Cranial Facial Release (CFR) is an advanced endo-nasal “balloon assisted” cranial adjusting technique. CFR has been successfully used to treat various respiratory, structural & neurological disorders. CFR is a drug & surgery-free technique that offers relief for common, but not limited to issues such as snoring, sleep apnea, deviated septum, sinusitis, migraines, post concussion syndrome, tinnitus, vertigo, and TMJ disorders.

Advanced Endo-Nasal Cranial Technique
Cranial Facial Release (CFR) is an advanced endo-nasal cranial technique that has been used quite successfully in the treatment of various neurological and structural disorders.
Understanding How CFR Works
To understand how CFR works, it is important to realize that the skull is not one solid bone. It is made up of 22 individual bones and 64 joints that actually move every time you breathe – or at least they’re supposed to.
The Objective of CFR Technique
The objective of CFR technique is to mobilize the bones in the face and cranium. This includes the sphenoid bone which lies at the central skull base acting as a key bridge between the orbit and intra/extra cranial structures. Bordering the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital bone, it acts as a conduit for several cranial nerves and contributes to the nasal cavity as well as the wall of the optical canal. Our goal is to open up and expand the breathing passageways with the purpose of mobilizing the cranial bones and facilitating normal cranial function.
How This Technique Is Performed
CFR technique is performed by inserting tiny balloons in the nose (the naso pharynx) then quickly inflating them to mobilize the bones of the face and cranium. It feels very similar to the sensation experienced when jumping into a swimming pool and having water shoot up your nose. The whole procedure takes about 2 to 3 seconds and consists of a series of 4 treatments over a 7-10 day period.
Treating the Cause, Not the Symptom
Symptoms are usually a sign of dysfunction in the body. If symptoms are “masked” for long enough without addressing the cause of the problem, this “long-term dysfunction” leads to a breakdown in the nervous and endocrine systems, which eventually gives rise to disease. Most people who come in for CFR treatment are often last resort patients who have tried everything else first. CFR often succeeds where other forms of conventional treatment have failed.

There are very few doctors who are certified in CFR Technique. Dr. Kevin McLaughlin is the only advanced certified CFR doctor in the Triangle area. He is one of very few doctors within the U.S and Internationally certified in advanced CFR technique. CFR doctors are required to undergo extensive post graduate training to become certified in this specialized procedure. CFR Doctors are cranial adjusting experts.
It is important to note that CFR
It is important to note that CFR is not directed at the treatment of any one specific disease or disorder. Its primary objective is to mobilize the cranial bones, unlock cranial fixations, open the breathing passageways, facilitate cerebral spinal fluid flow, increase vascular flow to and venous drainage from the cranium, and optimize brain function. This often improves symptoms related to various structural and neurological disorders.
